Christmas Appeal 2020

Just Giving – Christmas Toy Appeal

Each year Staines Salvation Army runs two Christmas community projects, both of which have been severely disrupted this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Christmas Toy Appeal

We will be even more dependent on the fantastic public generosity and support to enable each family in need, in Spelthorne, give every child at least one Christmas present. Donations made through this Just Giving page will allow us to buy the toys required, as many of our usual collection methods are curtailed during the lockdown. Our toy distribution will take place mid-December providing toy parcels and grocery gift cards for around 300 families or individuals in need.

Christmas Day Meal

Our second project is usually a Christmas day party with around 50 guests assisted by an army of community volunteers. This year, to keep everyone safe, we will be preparing a Christmas “minihamper” and using our volunteers to deliver the hamper, a small gift and a Christmas greeting to our guests, on their doorstep, on Christmas Day. If you are able to support us with a donation toward this project it is very much appreciated. Every penny of your donation with be used to support our local community projects. And if you’re a tax payer, you can increase that amount by 25% at no extra cost to you, just follow the Gift Aid instructions when donating.
