[title size="2"]30 June message from the officers[/title] Dear Friends, Welcome to worship today! The Family Service this morning is our Young Peoples Anniversary and therefore our young people will be to the fore. Following the service you are welcome to share in the BBQ and various activities that will take place. (There will not be a 5.30pm meeting today.) ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity…....Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.’ 1 Timothy 4:12–16 NIV. A thought: most present-day Christians will have had to face the general question ‘What do you get out of it?’ The challenges are not always so general. Accusations such as ‘it feeds your ego, It gives you a little glory and importance. You feed your emotions on other people;’ are often made. It would be false to deny that we find personal fulfilment in our Christian faith but we need to be sure that the central driving force in all that we do is Christ and not ourselves. As we read in Paul’s letter to 1 Thessalonians 2:1–6 ‘Our message to you is true, our motives are pure, our conduct is absolutely above board. We speak under the solemn sense of being entrusted by God with the gospel.’ God Bless you! Stephen & Christine, Majors
